Tenable Network Security Inc., the leader in continuous network monitoring, has announced that Nessus supports AirWatch Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) platform, extending Nessus’s support for EMM platforms. Organizations can now connect their Nessus scanners and receive mobile operating system (OS) vulnerability information for devices managed by AirWatch.

“Vulnerability management support for leading EMM providers like AirWatch is essential in reducing risk for organizations”

According to a recent industry report1, there is now virtually ubiquitous bring your own device (BYOD) usage in enterprises and mobile malware has tripled in the last year, meaning organizations must have the ability to detect and address mobile device vulnerabilities and threats to effectively manage the risks to their organizations. In today’s mobile environment, it is paramount that an organization has visibility into device usage, latest software updates and device compliance.

Successfully assessing risk requires a flexible strategy that is transparent and works with existing investments in enterprise mobility management systems. In Gartner’s recent report titled, “Four Ways to Close the Gap Between Enterprise Mobility and Vulnerability Management,” Tenable Network Security was identified as a sample vendor that covered three of the four mobile device assessment categories. These included Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) Integration, Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) Integration, and Passive Vulnerability Scanning (PVS).2

“Vulnerability management support for leading EMM providers like AirWatch is essential in reducing risk for organizations,” said Ron Gula, CEO, Tenable Network Security. “EMM technologies provide the critical ability to maintain information about the devices and their vulnerabilities. Nessus is now empowered to capture and integrate that information with its full view of an organization’s security posture, giving security staff unmatched ability to manage risk.”

“We continue to expand our partner ecosystem to enable organizations to more easily manage their entire mobile footprint, from mobile devices, apps and content to network security, peripherals and enterprise infrastructure,” said John Marshall, senior vice president and general manager, AirWatch. “This integration will provide organizations with an additional layer of security, while providing a seamless and secure mobile experience.”
