DCP Selects Zix Email Encryption to Replace Cisco

Easy to use solution and trusted reputation were top factors in switch

Zix Corporation (ZixCorp), (NASDAQ: ZIXI), a leader in email data protection, announces that DCP has switched its email encryption solution from Cisco’s IronPort Encryption Appliance (IEA) to Zix® Email Encryption in a new three-year contract. DCP is a holding company for Bank of Washington, Citizens National Bank and United Bank of Union, and all bank employees will now use ZixCorp to protect financial information in email.

“ZixCorp is a trusted company within the banking industry, which provided us with even greater confidence as we transitioned to its email encryption”

Ease of use for customers, partners and employees was a critical factor in DCP’s selection of Zix Email Encryption. Sophisticated policy filters and robust delivery methods separate ZixCorp’s solution from other email encryption solutions.

“Our customers deserve the comfort of knowing their sensitive data is protected, but they also deserve a communication method that’s as convenient as it is secure,” said Shane Nunn, Network Systems Engineer at DCP. “Our old solution received many complaints about being too cumbersome – encrypting emails that didn’t contain sensitive information and forcing users through a painful delivery process at the desktop and especially on mobile devices. Zix Email Encryption protects email without those headaches, making secure email as easy as possible for everyone.”

“Email encryption should not be difficult to use for either senders or for customers and partners on the receiving end, but many of the products in use today are outdated and complex,” said Rick Spurr, ZixCorp’s chairman and chief executive officer. “The advances we’ve implemented with Zix Email Encryption meet customers’ needs for easy to use security. They’ve enabled us to develop a reputation of reliability and ease of use among financial institutions and build trust with businesses like DCP that need to switch solutions.”

The broad use of Zix Email Encryption in the financial industry was also a contributing factor in DCP’s switch to ZixCorp. All federal financial regulators, more than 20 state financial regulators, such as the Missouri Division of Finance, and one in every five U.S. banks trust ZixCorp to secure their email.

“ZixCorp is a trusted company within the banking industry, which provided us with even greater confidence as we transitioned to its email encryption,” said Nunn.

Shane Nunn will discuss his experience transitioning to Zix Email Encryption and provide additional details of DCP’s decision to switch in a webinar on Sept. 30. To register for the online event, visit http://go.zixcorp.com/2014.09.30ZixWebinar.html.
