Tenable Network Security, Inc., a leader in continuous network monitoring, has announced the availability of Nessus® Enterprise for Amazon Web Services (AWS) on AWS Marketplace. The new solution allows AWS developers and customers to scan their Amazon Machine Images (AMI) assets within the AWS Cloud for potential vulnerabilities, threats and compliance violations during development and before they are deployed into production for preauthorization.

This new offering, available today, can be purchased directly through AWS Marketplace as a manager and scanner through an annual subscription. With annual pricing, customers can save between 10 to 40 percent compared to hourly prices and more accurately budget for software expenses ahead of time to meet their long-term solution needs.

“Nessus Enterprise adds additional layers of security on AWS for both developers and end users by scanning, auditing and monitoring software vulnerabilities for all AMIs and a customer’s underlying AWS workloads,” said Ron Gula, CEO of Tenable Network Security. “Tenable helps ensure security issues are rooted out during development and staging and that AMIs can securely operate in production.”

Also available on the AWS Marketplace is Nessus (BYOL), an AWS virtual machine version of the current Nessus vulnerability scanner. Under the Bring Your Own License (BYOL) model, Tenable customers can apply their existing Nessus licenses to this AMI or purchase additional licenses from the Tenable Store or channel partners. Nessus (BYOL) is deployed on the AWS Cloud to audit a customer’s AWS workloads or perform security and compliance scans of a customer’s on-premises assets. Together, these offerings provide customers the deployment options and flexibility needed to meet their unique security demands.
