Data Science Vision Lead
ThreatStream

ThreatStream, a next generation cyber intelligence company that enables the disruption of cyber attacks in real-time, has announced the appointment of big data security luminary, Jason Trost (formerly with Endgame, Inc.), to lead its data science vision.

“Jason is one of the few in the industry that has been pushing the envelope - utilizing big data platforms to address cyber security challenges. He is a perfect fit within our long term strategy,” said ThreatStream CEO, Greg Martin.  “I’m very excited to welcome Jason to the ThreatStream family.”

Trost solved many cyber security and big data challenges for the U.S. intelligence community as well as the private sector while working for the Department of Defense, Booz Allen Hamilton, and most recently, Endgame Inc.

“I am excited to join the ThreatStream team,” stated Trost.  “They have an exciting platform for sharing crowd-sourced threat data in real-time that enables their customers and partners to deny and disrupt threat actors as soon as possible.  With their platform, their critical mass of customers, and the backing of Google Ventures, they are uniquely positioned to make an impact and raise the bar against sophisticated adversaries across every vertical.”

Trost is a regular speaker at both security and big data conferences including Black Hat, RSA, BSides, Hadoop Summit, and Strataconf.  He is currently focused on building highly scalable systems for processing, analyzing, and visualizing high-speed network/security events in real-time as well as systems for analyzing massive amounts of malware and threat indicators. Trost holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Florida State University and an M.S. in Information Security from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he was awarded a full scholarship.
